LA UNIÓN DE LOS OPUESTOS: LA LUZ QUE GENERA LA FICCIÓN CRÍTICA. “CHET BAKER PIENSA EN SU ARTE” DE ENRIQUE VILA-MATAS

El penúltimo cuento del libro Chet Baker piensa en su arte de Vila-Matas, desarrolla las nociones medulares en torno a lo que aparentemente son descomedidas reflexiones, pero que resultan agrupadas en una búsqueda de imposibles relacionados con el arte, la creación literaria, la vida y los anhelos e indagaciones de todo ser humano.

Vivimos anclados en la muerte, nuestra preocupación central consiste precisamente en postergar esa muerte día con día, en tanto nos movemos entre contradicciones y antítesis que se tornan identidades increíbles, las cuales habitan en el silencio de las conciencias, sin atreverse a manifestar su esencia tal cual es.

El oxímoron “morir viviendo” cobra pleno alcance en nuestra indefensa condición humana y en el contexto de nuestra realización estética, porque poseemos un sentido de la belleza, que está más allá de nosotros mismos y que nos obliga a buscarla aún en los lugares imposibles. Pensamos que el misterio del arte se mueve entre contrarios, mientras busca la identidad que otorga el veleidoso pensamiento.

El bagaje cultural de Vila-Matas es interesante: el recurso del intertexto es para él perfectamente normal, deviene ese mismo intertexto en una complicada inclusión de autores contemporáneos, que van vistiendo el mundo del escritor, lo van complicando hasta el infinito, lo que se pretende alcanzar, es que todos ellos ayuden a pensar, sobre todo, colaboren para elaborar una teoría que le autorice al narrador a “estar en el mundo”.

Si la propuesta de Vila-Matas pretende ser un reto al receptor, lo ha conseguido, porque ofrecemos en esta reflexión crítica, precisamente el modelo Finnegans—Hire, enriquecido por alguna que otra reflexión paralela, la cual, por estar ajena al texto, puede resultar más fidedigna que el original.

Mis dudas constituyen el fruto de las vacilaciones del narrador, el cual, como veleta impulsada por el viento, en un momento quiere una cosa y en otro se inclina hacia el lado contrario; peor aún, es el colmo que una conciencia profundamente lógica pueda abarcar los dos extremos, pensando que, de este modo, de la unión de los opuestos saldrá la luz que generará la ficción crítica.

The oxymoron "dying living" takes full effect in our defenseless human condition and in the context of our aesthetic realization, because we have a sense of beauty, which is beyond ourselves and which forces us to search for it even in impossible places. We think that the mystery of art moves between opposites, while it seeks the identity that fickle thought grants.

The cultural background of Vila-Matas is interesting: the resource of the intertext is perfectly normal for him, that same intertext becomes a complicated inclusion of contemporary authors, who are dressing the world of the writer, they are complicating it to infinity, which is aims to achieve, is that all of them help to think, above all, collaborate to develop a theory that authorizes the narrator to "be in the world."

If Vila-Matas's proposal aims to challenge the recipient, it has succeeded, because in this critical reflection we offer precisely the Finnegans-Hire model, enriched by the occasional parallel reflection, which, as it is alien to the text, may be more reliable than the original.

My doubts are the fruit of the narrator's hesitations, who, like a weather vane driven by the wind, at one moment wants one thing and at another leans the other way; worse still, it is the height that a deeply logical conscience can encompass both extremes, thinking that, in this way, from the union of opposites the light will come out that will generate critical fiction.
